Easy Appetizer or Snack Recipe.. Shishito Peppers can be found in Asian markets or most grocery stores, including Trader Joes.
They are usually mild but don't be surprised when you bite into a spicy pepper as 1 in every 10 is spicy!
Heat a cast iron skillet (ideal) or a skillet. You can add 1 Tablespoon of sesame or vegetable oil but you can also blister them without oil as the pan tends to smoke.
Add the peppers and cook over medium/high heat, tossing and turning frequently until they blister in some places, between 5-10 minutes.
Keep it simple by squeezing in some citrus and salt and toss to combine
For soy/ginger sauce, in a bowl: combine:2- 3 Tablespoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon grated ginger, 1 Tablespoon honey and Juice of a lime. Add to the pan and toss together.
Reduce heat to low/medium and continue to cook for about 5 minutes until pepper are tender.
For this recipe, the soy/ginger sauce was used and sprinkled with sesame seeds before serving.
