Oat Flour

All you need is oats and a blender to make your own Oat Flour! Blending takes less than a minute, and it’s so much cheaper than buying it at the store.

Oat flour generally adds moisture and a fluffy texture to baked goods. You can use it alone for some recipes or mix it with all purpose or other flours to lighten heavy textures such as muffins and breads.

This is a great gluten free option for pancakes, waffles, quick breads, or baked goods. Its nutty flavor works well with recipes with honey, vanilla, cinnamon, or nutmeg. It can also be used as a thickener for sauces, gravies or soups.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 2 months.

I will be making blueberry bars with oat flour so will share the recipe.

Instructions: Add old fashion/rolled oats to a blender or food processor.

Blend until oats turn into a fine powder (20 seconds - 1 minute, depending on the speed of your blender/processor).

(if needed, about halfway, stir or remove blender from the base and shake to ensure all oats are blended).
