Low Carb Cheese Taco



This low carb cheese taco is so delicious and easy to make with minimal ingredients. Perfect for breakfast or anytime of the day!


Cooking Tip: Don’t cook on high heat as the cheese can burn quickly. Had to try a couple of times with lower heat to get it just right! The egg yolk will set when you fold over the hot cheese



Low Carb Cheese Taco


1 Tablespoon butter or olive oil

½ cup of your favorite shredded cheese

1 egg

Pinch of salt (optional)

Pinch of pepper (optional)


Heat butter or oil in the pan on low/medium heat. Evenly sprinkle the cheese to the center of the pan and form into a circle shape using a spatula.


Crack an egg in the center of the cheese. (if the egg starts to slide off the cheese, use your spatula to move the egg back onto the cheese). Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for about 1 minute.


Use a spatula to lift up one side of the cheese and fold in half. Flip over and heat for a few seconds to cook the egg yolk slightly. Transfer to a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
