Thanks to Les Dames d'Escoffier LA/OC chapter, I had the opportunity to experience amazing food and craft cocktails at Little Onion Mexican Restaurant in Irvine.
Lorin "Lorenzo" first opened Little Onion restaurant in Hawthorne, California in 1963. After a few successful years, he took his family to Orange County where he opened the second Little Onion in 1972 in Santa Ana. He has successfully grown the Little Onion for over 40 years.
Since Lorenzo's retirement in 2011, his daughter Lori has spent each day ensuring that his dream and the passionate spirit that helped create the Little Onion lives on forever. In the words of Lorenzo, "Never, ever give up." The Little Onion will never give up on making sure that we prepare and serve fresh, authentic, Mexican cuisine, and provide great service at a great price. They recently opened their second location in Irvine.

They had a special menu for this event which gave us a taste of the restaurant.
The dishes I tasted were:
First course: Duck Croquets and Seafood Tostada
Entree: Fresh Grilled Mahi Mahi and Birria Taco (short rib)
Dessert: Tres Leches and Margarita Lme Pie
For cocktails, I had Champagne Margarita and Desert Rose Cocktail. ( Both so good!)
Thanks to our gracious host, Lori Rowe, for her hospitality and wonderful experience at her restaurant. Make sure you visit any of the locations below!
